Former participants in the preparatory art course at the art school provide insights. In his lecture at the Liechtenstein Art School, Edgar Gomes Ferreira reports on his career path.

Attending the preliminary course opens up a wide range of perspectives: whether it's training in graphic design, studying art education, design training or architecture – many career aspirations, interests and talents are discovered during the preliminary course year. But what happens afterwards? How have former participants of the preliminary course fared in their studies or careers in the fields of illustration, art or architecture? What are the keys to success? And how can dreams be turned into reality?

Edgar Gomes Ferreira was born and raised in Liechtenstein in 1997. After completing an apprenticeship as an automation engineer, he attended the vocational baccalaureate school in Vaduz. This was followed by a preparatory course at the Liechtenstein Art School. Edgar is studying film at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) from 2019 to 2024, specialising in screenwriting. Edgar's short film ‘Sieger’ was shown at the Solothurn Film Festival this year.
