Demenz Liechtenstein

Dementia Liechtenstein provides advice and support for people with dementia or their relatives. Awareness-raising work is just as much a part of the service as the new day center for people with dementia.

Dementia Liechtenstein pursues professional goals that, on the one hand, help individuals cope with dementia within a family system (e.g. 1:1 advice at the support point, by telephone or at home; "Knowledge and coping" courses; discussion groups; Forget-Me-Not cafés) and, on the other hand, offers that are intended to provide non-relative carers of people with dementia with the skills they need to deal appropriately with people with the disease and their relatives.

To this end, needs-based, tailor-made events are held "at eye level", i.e. depending on the (prerequisite) specialist training.

A third major goal is to provide qualified information to the public in the sense of raising awareness ("dementia-friendly society") for the topic (e.g. lectures, press work, cinema and theater contributions or the annual, barrier-free celebration of the Day of People with Dementia) as well as prevention (e.g. long-term life planning; activating offers on nutrition, exercise, healthy lifestyle,); the latter also in cooperation with many partners of different profiles.

From 2024, Dementia Liechtenstein will also run its own day center for people with dementia in Schaan.
